Various Types of Railway Time Table

The railway time table is a very important source of information for train passengers and those who are planning their journey. There are several time tables and those meant for public information are available online also now.

Zonal Time Table for Public – This time table is published annually by group of Zonal Railways (like Central Railway, Eastern Railway etc.) In addition to the train timings, additional information, that is useful for the passengers, such as ruled regarding reservation and refunds, cancellation of confirmed booking, fare tables and other facilities at stations, is also provided in this time table. Copies of this time table are available for sale at the booking offices and book stalls.

Trains at a Glance for public – This is a compiled time table for all trains in Indian Railways. Important trains are shown with time of arrivals and departures at important stations, right from the origination station to the terminating staton in one table only. Therefore users need not refer to a number of tables/time tables to find out the schedule a particular train.

Working Time Table for use of Staff – Several operational details are required to be conveyed to the railway staff connected with running of trains and maintenance the infrastructure on the railways. This information is conveyed to the staff through the working time table. These time table are primarily made Railway division wise. The Information in Working Time Table includes Technical halts, various time allowances, list of level crossing gates, list of Permanent speed restrictions, crossing and precedence table, ruling gradients, signalling systems etc.

20.09.2022 :- AC-3 Tier Economy Coaches in Mumbai-Patna Express

Railways have decided to attach o­ne AC-3 Tier Economy coach to below mentioned train from the dates mentioned against each.

    • Train No.13202 LTT-Patna Express with effect from 22.09.2022
    • Train No.13201 Patna- LTT Express with effect from 20.09.2022
  • Composition
    • One First AC, Two AC-2 Tier, 6 AC-3 Tier, o­ne AC-3 Tier Economy, 6 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class including o­ne Guard’s Brake Van, o­ne Pantry car and o­ne Generator Van.
  • 05.09.2022 :- Addition of Extra Coaches in Trains
  • 03.08.2022 :- Two More AC Coaches to be Attached with Amarnath Express
    • For ensuring better comfort of passengers, two additional AC-3 tier coaches will be attached with 15097/15098Bhagalpur – Jammu Tawi – Bhagalpur Amarnath Express with effect from 06.10.2022 from Bhagalpur & from 04.10.2022 from Jammu Tawi .

Augmentation of Trains List 2022

  • 09.09.2022 :- Permanent Augmentation of Sainagar Shirdi-Vijayawada/Kakinada Port Express Trains
    • Railways have decided to attach additional coaches o­n permanent basis as per details given below:
    • One additional Sleeper class and General Second Class coach to Train no 17208/17207 Sainagar Shirdi – Vijayawada Express ex Sainagar Shirdi with effect from 14.09.2022 and from Vijayawada with effect from 13.09.2022
    • One First AC cum AC-2 Tier coach to Train No.17206/17205 Sainagar Shirdi – Kakinada Port Express ex. Sainagar Shirdi with effect from 13.09.2022 and from Kakinada Port with effect from 12.09.2022.
    • Revised composition for Train no 17208/17207: o­ne First AC cum AC-2 Tier, o­ne AC-2 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class including Two Guard’s Brake Vans.
    • Revised composition for Train no 17206/17205: Two First AC cum AC-2 Tier, Two AC-2 Tier, Three AC-3 Tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 4 General second class including 2 Guard’s Brake Vans.
  • 05.09.2022 :- Permanent Augmentation of Coach in Trains
    • It is decided to augment One Second Class Sleeper Coach o­n permanent basis in the following trains as detailed below: –
      • Train No. 06509 KSR Bengaluru – Danapur Weekly Humsafar Superfast Express Special will be augmented permanently with o­ne second class sleeper coach with effect from today i.e.,05.09.2022 from KSR Bengaluru.
      • Train No. 06510 Danapur – KSR Bengaluru Weekly Humsafar Superfast Express Special will be augmented permanently with o­ne second class sleeper coach with effect from 07.09.2022 from Danapur.
      • After augmentation, these trains will run with revised composition of 22 coaches i.e., 13 – AC three tier coaches, 7 – second class sleeper coaches and 2 – Luggage cum brake-vans with Generator Cars.
  • 02.09.2022 :- Permanent Augmentation of Coach in Trains
    • South Western Railway has decided to augment o­ne AC-3 tier coach and o­ne Second Class Sleeper coach o­n a permanent basis in the following trains as detailed below: –
      • Train No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru – Kannur Daily Express will be permanently augmented with o­ne AC-3 tier coach and o­ne Second Class Sleeper Coach with effect from 13.09.2022 from KSR Bengaluru.
      • Train No. 16512 Kannur – KSR Bengaluru Daily Express will be permanently augmented with o­ne AC-3 tier coach and o­ne Second Class Sleeper Coach with effect from 14.09.2022 from Kannur.
      • These trains will run with a revised composition of 18 coaches i.e., 1 – AC-2 tier, 2 – AC-3 tier, 9 – Second Class Sleeper, 4 – General Second Class and 2 – Second Class Luggage cum Brake-Vans.
  • 25.08.2022 :- Augmentation of Mumbai-Madgaon AC Double Decker Express
    • Railways have decided to attach additional AC-2 Tier, AC-3 Tier and AC chair coaches to the AC Double Decker Express to clear the extra rush of passengers as per details given below. Two AC-2 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier, o­ne AC Chair Car. Train no 11099/11100 LTT-Madgoan AC Double Decker Weekly Express Ex LTT with effect from 27.08.2022 to 10.9.2022 and from ex Madgaon with effect from 28.8.2022 to 11.9.2022. Train no 11085/11086 LTT – Madgoan AC Double Decker Bi-weekly Express ex LTT with effect from 29.08.2022 to 7.9.2022 and from ex Madgaon with effect from 30.8.2022 to 8.9.2022

  1. I have paid online Rs 70 + applicable charges (Rs 117) on 6th July 2019 for the train timetable book from Bengaluru. When do I get my book.

  2. In earlier Trains At A Galance timetables there used to be a page having the yearly calender. It is not there since last 2-3 years. Please include it once again.
    Also, as was done earlier, there should be at least two ruled blank pages meant for the passengers to joy down their travelling plans. Please start it again.

  3. Southern Railway is increasing many trains for Kerala public whereas Tamil Nadu people are neglected. MPs of Tamil Nadu is not having adequate knowledge about trains so this happens. South Tamil Nadu public are totally neglected. Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari need more trains as they are traveling to Chennai and rest of the places by bus due to non availability of train accommodation. To travel rest of the country Tamil Nadu people travel either to Chennai or to Thiruvananthapuram to catch train. This is pathetic. Many trains terminating at Thiruvananthapuram must be extended upto Kanyakumari or to Nagercoil.

  4. Page starts with “NEW TRAIN TIME TABLE 2017 – 2018 Details” but there is nothing else about the 2017-18 edition. Where is the time table 17-18?
