- Booking is allowed for all types of users (Normal & Agent).
- Only E-Ticket booking is allowed.
- Only Confirmed tickets shall be booked during the current booking.
- Only senior citizen and disabled concession shall be allowed.
- Current booking is allowed after charting within the existing booking time limit specified by Railways.
- Boarding point change is not allowed for current booking PNR.
- Name/age/gender change is not allowed for current booking PNR.
- Booking in premium & Suvidha train will be allowed with the last booking fare.

✅ What is current booking in railway?
Current reservation is another type of Tatkal service offered by IRCTC. The tickets under this reservation quota can be booked only after preparation of chart if some seats are available. That is you have to book the tickets in the last four hours only.
✅ How many hours before current booking is available?
Current booking opens just after the chart is prepared for the train i.e. 3 or 4 hours prior to departure of the train. In case you want to book a current ticket for any train from a station other than originating station you will be able to do so when it’s under 3 hours for the train to depart from that particular station.

Current Availability is the availability and booking of tickets after preparation of the final chart, which is done 3 hours to 12 hours before the departure (depending on the actual time of departure). Earlier this was available only at the booking counter at the station and manual tickets were issued.
