Khar – Goregaon : 29 Days Block

Western Railway has announced a planned 29-day block in the Mumbai suburban section, from Khar to Goregaon, to facilitate the construction of the 6th line. Despite the extensive nature of the work, meticulous planning has been implemented to minimize disruptions and inconvenience for passengers. Notably, there will be no train cancellations during the initial 10-13 days. However, starting from October 20, 2023, approximately 2700 suburban services will be cancelled, and around 400 services will be partially cancelled or short-terminated. Long-distance trains will also be affected, with approximately 60 cancellations and 200 partial cancellations/short terminations expected. As part of the construction, Andheri Platform No. 9 will be suspended from October 19/20 until the completion of Non-Interlocking work. The project will culminate in a 24-hour Mega Block on November 4th/5th, 2023, at Bandra Terminus, facilitating the cut-and-connect of rail tracks.
