MAJOR TRAIN BLOCKS 2020

Indian Railway is conducting major train blocks for various reasons including rail maintenance, over bridge maintenance, platform renovation, doubling works, due to heavy rain etc. Even though we are updating the train cancellation details daily in some other pages, for more conveniences of readers we decided to mention the full details of the blocks with mentioning of station name , date, name of the railway zone which announced the blocks etc.

However Railway is causing inconvenience to the passengers, they are eager to restore the cancelled trains as early as possible. Here we are uploading major train blocks by various zones of Indian Railway under one page on day to day basis.

Extended cancellation of passenger Train Services* :- Indian Railway announced that cancellation of all passenger trains including suburban trains are extended till 17th May 2020. Therefore no one should come to Railway Station.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SOUTH FOB SKYWALK and NORTH SIDE STAIRCASE OF MIDDLE FOB AT KANDIVALI STATION

Western Railway announced that Skywalk connecting MCGM bridge and Foot Over Bridge at south side of Kandivali station between Up fast and Fifth line foot over bridge will remain closed due to roof covering work and repair and replacement of slippers and MS deck plates from midnight falling between 20th and 21st March, 2020 till 30th March, 2020 I.e. for 10 days. Passengers are advised to use west side connection of both foot over bridge.

Similarly, the north side staircase on platform no.1 of middle foot over bridge at Kandivali station will reman closed for major strengthening work from midnight failing between 20th and 21st March, 2020 upto 19th May, 2020 i.e for 60 days. The passengers are requested to use south side of staircase of this foot over bridge and other two foot over bridge available on Platform No.1.


DANAPUR – SONEPUR : NON-INTERLOCKING WORK : UPTO 02.04.2020

Eastern Railway announced that due to non-interlocking work at different places in Danapur & Sonepur Divisions over East Central Railway, movement of following trains will be regulated as under:

Diversion:

  • Train No·12367 Bhagalpur – Anand Vihar Express leaving Bhagalpur from 19.3.2020 to 2.4.2020 will be diverted via Ratanpur – Munger Bridge – Barauni – Mokama.
  • Train No·12368 Anand Vihar – Bhagalpur Express leaving Anand Vihar from 18.3.2020 to 1.4.2020 will be diverted via Mokama – Barauni – Munger Bridge – Ratanpur.
  • Train No·12335 Bhagalpur – Lokmanya Tilak Express leaving Bhagalpur o­n 20.3.2020 will be diverted via Ratanpur – Munger Bridge – Barauni – Mokama – Patna and from 21.3.2020 to 31.3.2020 via Ratanpur – Munger Bridge – Barauni – Shahpur Patori – Patliputra.
  • Train No·12336 Lokmanya Tilak – Bhagalpur Express leaving Lokmanya Tilak o­n 19.3.2020 will be diverted via Patna – Mokama –Barauni –Munger Bridge – Ratanpur and from 20.3.2020 to 31.3.2020 via Patliputra- Shahpur Patori – Barauni – Munger Bridge – Ratanpur
  • Train No·15955 Dibrugarh – Delhi Express leaving Dibrugarh from 17.3.2020 to 20.3.2020 will be diverted via Katihar – Khagaria –Narhan – Samastipur – Muazaffarpur – Patlipurta and from 21.3.2020 to 1.4.2020 via Katihar –Shahpur Patori – Patliputra.
  • Train No·15956 Delhi – Dibrugarh Express leaving Delhi from 18.3.2020 to 20.3.2020 will be diverted via Patliputra-Muzaffarpur – Samastipur – Narhan –Khagaria- Katihar and from 21.3.2020 to 1.4.2020 via Patliputra – Shahpur Patori – Katihar.

KALYAN – TITWALA : SPECIAL TRAFFIC AND POWER BLOCK : ON 14.03.2020

Central Railway announced that Railway will operate two special traffic and power blocks (midnight) o­n Up and Dn lines between Kalyan and Kasara for launching and de-launching of foot over bridge girders at Titwala by road crane; removal of redundant OHE structures and other maintenance related activities. The train running pattern will be as under:

KIUL STATION : NON-INTERLOCKING WORK : 22.03.2020 TO 02.04.2020

South East Central Railway announced that in Kiul station pre-Danapur Railway Division of East Central Railway dated 22 March to 02 April , 2020 to be held in non-interlocking , and date for this work on February 16 , has undertaken pre-NI 2020. As a result, the operation of some trains related to South East Central Railway will be affected. The detailed information of which is as follows: –

Canceled vehicles :

  • 07009 Secunderabad – Barauni Express running between Secunderabad and Barauni stations on 2 2 and 29 March 2020 will remain canceled.
  • At 25 Marc and April 0l , 2020 eyelash and Secunderabad stations will be canceled mid-run 07010 eyelash-Secunderabad Express.
  • The 17005 Hyderabad – Raxaul Express running between Hyderabad and Raxaul stations on 19 and 26 March 2020 will remain canceled.
  • Date 22 will be canceled and 29 Marc 2020 Raxaul and Hyderabad stations between running 17006 Raxaul-Hyderabad Express.
  • The 17007 Secunderabad – Darbhanga Express running between Secunderabad and Darbhanga stations on 17, 21 , 24 , 28 and 31 March 2020 will remain canceled.
  • At 20, 24 , 27 , March 31 , will be canceled in 2020 and April 03 2020 Darbhanga and Secunderabad stations between running 17008 Darbhanga-Hyderabad Express.
  • 22843 Bilaspur-Patna Express running between Bilaspur and Patna stations on 20 and 27 March 2020 will remain canceled.
  • At 21 and 28 March will be canceled 2020 Patna and Bilaspur 22844 Patna-Bilaspur running between stations Express.

Rescheduled vehicles: –

  • 07010 Barauni-Secunderabad Express running between Barauni and Secunderabad stations on 04 March 2020 will depart at 11.25 am with a rescheduled time of 4 hours 15 minutes.
  • The 07010 Barauni-Secunderabad Express running between Barauni and Secunderabad stations will depart from the scheduled time of 12.25 hrs on 5 March 15 minutes on 18 March 2020.

Trains diverted: –

  • Date 01 Change March 15, 2020 Secunderabad and eyelash stations between running 07009 Secunderabad-eyelash express route will leave the destination route Wyaha Rajbera-Gomo-Gaya-Patna-Mocomma.
  • At 26 change from February March 18, 2020 Eyelash and Secunderabad stations between running 07010 Secunderabad-eyelash express route will leave the destination route Wyaha Mocomma-Patna-Gaya-Gomo-Rajbera.

KHANYAN – MAGRA : TRAFFIC & POWER BLOCK : FROM 26.02.2020 TO 18.03.2020

Eastern Railway announced that for commissioning of third line between Khanyan and Magra stations in Bandel – Shaktigarh double line section, 21 days traffic & power block, in which two days for 210 minutes (22.30 hrs. to 2.00 hrs.) in the nights of 26/27.2.2020 & 27/28.2.2020 and afterwards 19 days for 210 minutes (11.00 hrs. to 14.30 hrs.) from 29.2.2020 to 18.3.2020 will be imposed. Consequently, the following train running arrangements have been made:-

CLOSURE OF FERERE ROAD OVER BRIDGE (ROB) BETWEEN CHARNI ROAD & GRANT ROAD FOR DISMANTLING & REGIRDERING WORK WITH EFFECT FROM 16/17th JANUARY, 2020

The Ferere Road Over Bridge (ROB) located between Charni Road & Grant Road will be closed from 00.00 hrs during the intervening night of 16 /17th January, 2020 for dismantling as well as regirdering work of this ROB.

Western Railway announced that according to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, all the owners of the utilities running o­n this bridge have been re – notified and o­nce again requested by Western Railway to remove their installations such as cables, wires, pipe lines, etc. at the earliest and to shift them away from the bridge, else Railway Administration will be constrained to take up the dismantling work and will not be responsible for any inconvenience caused.


PART CLOSURE OF WEST SIDE STAIRCASE OF BANDRA FOB AT PLATFORM NO. 1 (NORTH EAST PORTION) : 15.01.2020

Western Railway announced that the three metre wide, west side staircase at Platform No. 1 (North East portion) of Bandra Foot Over Bridge will be closed from Wednesday, 15th January, 2020, due to dismantling work of old staircase. The passengers may use 3.00 mt. wide existing staircase o­n the north side adjacent to old staircase and 2.00 mt. wide new staircase from landing at south side o­n Platform No. 1 of middle FOB at Bandra. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted by WR.

Western Railway announced that the Ferere Road Over Bridge (ROB) located between Charni Road & Grant Road will be closed from the intermittent night of 15/16th January, 2020 for dismantling as well as regirdering work of this ROB.

CLOSURE OF OLD MIDDLE FOB AT GOREGAON : FROM 11.01.2020

Western Railway announced that A new 6.00m wide Foot Over Bridge (Middle) has been commissioned o­n 30.12.2019 at Goregaon station o­n replacement account. Hence, the old existing middle FOB will be closed from 11.01.2020. Commuters may use new FOB connecting all the platforms, as well as the east side.


ROURKELA-BILASPUR-JHARSUGUDA-BILASPUR-ROURKELA : TRAIN CANCELLATION : 31.03.2020

South Eastern Railway announced that in view of 5 days Pre Non Interlocking work and 3 days Non Interlocking work at Chakradharpur Yard in Tatanagar-Rourkela section in connection with commissioning of 3rd line between Rajkharswan-Bisra of Chakradharpur Division, the service of the following S E Railway trains will be regulated:-

  • Train No·58113/58114 Tatanagar-Bilaspur-Tatanagar Passenger will remain cancelled from 23.01.2020 to 30.01.2020.
  • Train No·68009 Tatanagar-Chakradharpur MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from 23.01.2020 to 30.01.2020.
  • Train No·68010 Chakradharpur-Tatanagar MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from 24.01.2020 to 31.01.2020.
  • Train No·68017 Gomoh-Chakradharpur MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from 23.01.2020 to 30.01.2020.
  • Train No·68018 Chakradharpur-Gomoh MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from 24.01.2020 to 31.01.2020.

SHORT TERMINATION/SHORT ORIGINATION OF TRAINS

  • Train No·58011 Howrah-Adra-Chakradharpur Passenger leaving Howrah from 22.01.2020 to 29.01.2020 will be short terminated at Adra and 58012 Chakradharpur-Adra-Howrah Passenger will be short originated from Adra from 23.01.2020 to 30.01.2020. Hence, the services of the trains will remain cancelled between Adra-Chakradharpur-Adra from 23.01.2020 to 30.01.2020.

RUNNING OF EXPRESS/INTERCITY TRAINS AS PASSENGER SPECIAL

  • Train No·18030 Shalimar-LTT Express leaving Shalimar from 23.01.2020 to 30.10.2020 will stop at all stations between Tatanagar and Chakradharpur as Passenger Special.
  • Train No·18029 LTT-Shalimar Express leaving LTT from 22.01.2020 to 29.01.2020 will stop at all stations between Chakradharpur and Tatanagar as Passenger Special.
  • Train No·18403 Rourkela-Barbil Intercity Express leaving Rourkela from 23.01.2020 to 30.01.2020 will stop at all stations between Rourkela and Chakradharpur as Passenger Special.
  • Train No·18404 Barbil-Rourkela Intercity Express leaving Barbil from 24.01.2020 to 31.01.2020 will stop at all stations between Chakradharpur and Rourkela as Passenger Special.

South Eastern Railway announced that in view of safety related developmental works in Rourkela-Bilaspur-Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Rourkela section, the following trains will be cancelled/short terminated & short originated:-

PERMANENT CLOSURE OF SOUTH STAIRCASE OF NORTH FOB AT BANDRA STATION

Western Railway announced that the south end staircase of north Foot Over Bridge at platform no 2/3 at Bandra station will remain closed from 03.01.2020. The south end staircase will be dismantled as it is coming in the alignment of the main foundation of the new FOB. Passengers may use north side of the staircase from north new FOB o­n PF 2/3. Inconvenience caused to the commuters is regretted by Western Railway.


FOGGY SEASON : TRAIN CANCELLED : FROM 16.12.2019

Eastern Railway announced that due to upcoming foggy season from 16 December, 2019 to 31 January, 2020, Railways has decided to cancel some of Mail/Express trains either partially or fully and reduction in frequency of trains, as a precautionary measure from safety point of view. RENIGUNTA YARD : LINE BLOCK : FROM 01.10.2019

South Central Railway announced that due to Line Block for washable Apron repairs on Platform No. 5 at Renigunta Yard from 1st October, 2019 for 45 days. Consequently, the following trains are cancelled/partially cancelled/rescheduled as detailed below: –

  • Train No. 67240 Gudur – Renigunta MEMU service is cancelled from 1st October, 2019 to 14th November, 2019 (45 days).
  • Train No. 67239 Renigunta – Gudur MEMU service is cancelled from 1st October, 2019 to 14th November, 2019 (45 days).

FOB CLOSED : PRABHADEVI STATION : FROM 28.07.2019

Western Railway announced that the old west span of North old FOB over Down slow line including the west south staircase at Prabhadevi station will be closed from 28th July 2019 for safety of passengers.

The new west span was commissioned on 19th June 2019 which is on North side of existing old span. This old span will be dismantled and a new FOB will be constructed at the same location. Passengers are requested to use new span of this FOB and the other FOB’s at the the station. They can use new West span on the North side of existing span.


MUMBAI CENTRAL : FOB CLOSED : FROM 22.06.2019

Western Railway announced that the east side north staircase near Elevated Booking office of Mumbai Central (North) Foot Over Bridge will be closed from 22nd June, 2019. Commuters may use staircase of the same FOB near main line platform no 5.


MARINE LINE FOB CLOSED : FROM 08.06.2019

Western Railway announced that Railway has commissioned new FOB at Marine Lines (Middle) from 31st May, 2019 on replacement basis. This new FOB connects all the platforms of Marine Lines station. Therefore, the old existing middle FOB will be closed for public from 8th June, 2019


CLOSURE OF BEASANT NAGAR PASSENGER RESERVATION CENTRE and OPENING OF NEW PRS COUNTER AT KASTURBA NAGAR RAILWAY STATION

Southern Railway announced that the Passenger Reservation Centre at Rajaji Nagar, in Beasant Nagar will be closed with effect from 19.05.2019 (SUNDAY) o­nwards due to administrative reasons. In lieu of this, a new PRS Counter will be opened o­n and from 20th May 2019 at Kasturba Nagar Railway Station o­n MRTS Section.

The new PRS counter at Kasturba Nagar Railway Station will function in two shifts to the following timings :-

  • Morning Shift : 08.00 hrs to 14.00 hrs.
  • Evening Shift : 14.15 hrs to 20.00 hrs.

TRAFFIC BLOCKS : NERAL – MATHERAN SECTION : FROM 20.05.2019

MATHERAN TOY TRAIN TO BE BACK ON TRACK, BUT ONLY ON 3 KM ROUTE

Central Railways plans to restart Matheran’s toy train between the Hill station and Aman Lodge before Christmas, a famous Newspaper reported on 08.11.2019. Services were suspended on the entire 20 km route between Matheran and base station Neral following Monsoon damage at 22 locations.

Though the 3 km route between Matheran and Aman Lodge wasn’t damaged, the train couldn’t be run on this stretch as maintenance facilities for the locomotive as well as coaches are only at Neal.


Central Railway announced that Railway will decided to operate special traffic blocks o­n Neral – Matheran section for various engineering works from Monday to Friday except public holidays from 20.5.2019 onwards till further advice.   • Train No. 52103 leaving Neral at 08.50 hrs

VIDYAVIHAR – GURU TEG BAHADUR NAGAR STATIONS : CLOSURE FOOT OVER BRIDGE : FROM 30.04.2019

Central Railway announced that Staircase of two old Foot Over Bridges (FOBs), o­ne each at Vidyavihar and Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar station will be closed for public use from 30.04.2019.

At Vidyavihar station, the old 2.44 metre steel ‘N’ type FOB at CSMT end and connecting to Vidyavihar station East to West and staircase access to Platform No. 1 and 2 will be closed from 30.04.2019, as the new 5 metre FOB constructed parallel and adjacent to the old FOB is already opened for Public Use. Passengers are requested to use the newly opened FOB.

At Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar (GTBN) station, the old 2.44 metre steel ‘N’ type FOB at Kurla end connecting GTBN Station East and staircase access to Platform No. 1 and 2 will be closed from 30.04.2019, as the new 6 metre wide FOB constructed parallel and adjacent to the old FOB is already opened for Public Use. Passengers are requested to use the newly opened FOB.

  1. Now a days lot of trains are having loose times which can be utilized for eg train no 17031
    Mumbai Hyderabad express right time at solapur is 22.05 22.15 but it will come at 22.55 and leaves at 23.05 almost 40mts late but will arrive Hyderabad at 5.45 am instead of 5.55am
    Similarly train no 17319 which leaves secunderabad at 15.40 reaches at 22.10 to Hotgi and departs at 23.10 reaches Gadag at 5.20 leaves Gadag at 6.10 am and reaches Hubli at 7.25 am.The timings can be changed so that the train can reach Hubli at 6.50am.

    Train no 11304 reaches Dharwar at 15.15 and reaches Hubballi at 15.50 leaves at 16.15 and reaches Guntakal at 22.00 arrives at 4.20at vikarabad . If you cutshort halt at Hubli and other the train can reach 5.45 am secunderabad.

  2. Suddenly all the trains were cancelled causing inconvenience to passengers and the railway in one line regretted. The works as informed could have been segregated.
    Today I am stuck at Guwahati as our train was cancelled. We were in a group of about 100 passengers, going to Odisha, about 1000 KM’s most are senior citizens and ladies booked tickets in the month of February 19. The plight can be well imagined. The train was cancelled abruptly with out prior information. The train could be rescheduled/diverted as the train covers long route. The authority could have planned early and stopped booking and notify in the Newspaper in advance
