MAJOR TRAIN BLOCKS 2020

Indian Railway is conducting major train blocks for various reasons including rail maintenance, over bridge maintenance, platform renovation, doubling works, due to heavy rain etc. Even though we are updating the train cancellation details daily in some other pages, for more conveniences of readers we decided to mention the full details of the blocks with mentioning of station name , date, name of the railway zone which announced the blocks etc.

However Railway is causing inconvenience to the passengers, they are eager to restore the cancelled trains as early as possible. Here we are uploading major train blocks by various zones of Indian Railway under one page on day to day basis.

CLOSURE OF FERERE ROAD OVER BRIDGE (ROB) BETWEEN CHARNI ROAD & GRANT ROAD FOR DISMANTLING & REGIRDERING WORK WITH EFFECT FROM 16/17th JANUARY, 2020

The Ferere Road Over Bridge (ROB) located between Charni Road & Grant Road will be closed from 00.00 hrs during the intervening night of 16 /17th January, 2020 for dismantling as well as regirdering work of this ROB.

Western Railway announced that according to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, all the owners of the utilities running o­n this bridge have been re – notified and o­nce again requested by Western Railway to remove their installations such as cables, wires, pipe lines, etc. at the earliest and to shift them away from the bridge, else Railway Administration will be constrained to take up the dismantling work and will not be responsible for any inconvenience caused.


PART CLOSURE OF WEST SIDE STAIRCASE OF BANDRA FOB AT PLATFORM NO. 1 (NORTH EAST PORTION) : 15.01.2020

Western Railway announced that the three metre wide, west side staircase at Platform No. 1 (North East portion) of Bandra Foot Over Bridge will be closed from Wednesday, 15th January, 2020, due to dismantling work of old staircase. The passengers may use 3.00 mt. wide existing staircase o­n the north side adjacent to old staircase and 2.00 mt. wide new staircase from landing at south side o­n Platform No. 1 of middle FOB at Bandra. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted by WR.

Western Railway announced that the Ferere Road Over Bridge (ROB) located between Charni Road & Grant Road will be closed from the intermittent night of 15/16th January, 2020 for dismantling as well as regirdering work of this ROB.

CLOSURE OF OLD MIDDLE FOB AT GOREGAON : FROM 11.01.2020

Western Railway announced that A new 6.00m wide Foot Over Bridge (Middle) has been commissioned o­n 30.12.2019 at Goregaon station o­n replacement account. Hence, the old existing middle FOB will be closed from 11.01.2020. Commuters may use new FOB connecting all the platforms, as well as the east side.


SECUNDERABAD – KAZIPET : TRAFFIC BLOCK : UPTO 14.02.2020

South Central Railway announced that due to traffic block for widening of ROB between Secunderabad – Kazipet section of Secunderabad Division, the following trains are cancelled/rescheduled/regulated as detailed below: –

Trains Cancelled

  • Train No. 67277 Falaknuma – Jangaon MEMU is cancelled o­n 03rd, 04th, 05th, 06th, 07th, 08th, 17th, 22nd January and 14th February, 2020.
  • Train No. 67278 Jangaon – Falaknuma MEMU is cancelled o­n 03rd, 04th, 05th, 06th, 07th, 08th, 17th, 22nd January and 14th February, 2020.

Rescheduled

  • Train No. 17202 Secunderabad – Guntur Golconda Express scheduled to depart Secunderabad at 12.30 hrs o­n 04th January, 2020 is rescheduled to depart at 14.30 hrs o­n the same day.
  • Train No. 17202 Secunderabad – Guntur Golconda Express scheduled to depart Secunderabad at 12.30 hrs o­n 17th January, 2020 is rescheduled to depart at 13.30 hrs o­n the same day.
  • Train No. 02784 Secunderabad – Bhubaneswar Holiday Special train scheduled to depart Secunderabad at 12.40 hrs 04th January, 2020 is rescheduled to depart at 14.40 hrs o­n the same day.

Regulation of Trains

  • Train No. 17208 Vijayawada – Sainagar Shiridi Express scheduled to depart Vijayawada o­n 04th January, 2020 will be regulated enroute for 30 minutes.
  • Train No. 15015 Gorakhpur – Yelahanka Express scheduled to depart Gorakhpur o­n 07th January and 14th February, 2020 will be regulated enroute for 50 minutes.
  • Train No. 12251 Yesvantpur – Korba Waingangā Express scheduled to depart Yesvantpur o­n 08th & 22nd January, 2020 will be regulated enroute for 50 minutes.

AJMER – PALANPUR : NON INTERLOCKING WORK : 27.01.2020

Western Railway announced that due to the non interlocking work for commissioning of patch doubling work between Bhimana – Mawal stations o­n Ajmer-Palanpur section o­n NW Rly., some WR trains will be affected. South Eastern Railway announced that in view of safety related developmental works in Rourkela-Bilaspur-Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Rourkela section, the following trains will be cancelled/short terminated & short originated:-

  • Train No·68028 Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from Sambalpur from 01.01.2020 to 31.03.2020 (daily).
  • Train No·68031 Jharsuguda-Sambalpur MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from Jharsuguda from 01.01.2020 to 31.03.2020 (daily).
  • Train No·68029 Rourkela-Jharsuguda MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from Rourkela from 01.01.2020 to 31.03.2020 (daily).
  • Train No·68162 Jharsuguda-Hatia MEMU Passenger will remain cancelled from Jharsuguda every Wednesday & Saturday upto 31.03.2020.

  • Train No·58111 Tatanagar-Itwari Passenger leaving Tatanagar every Saturday will be short terminated at Jharsuguda and will run back as 58112 Itwari-Tatanagar Passenger from Jharsuguda by rescheduling 1 hour upto 31.03.2020. Therefore, 58111/58112 will remain cancelled between Jharsuguda-Itwari-Jharsuguda
  • Train No·58113 Tatanagar-Bilaspur Passenger leaving Tatanagar every Wednesday & Saturday will be short terminated at Jharsuguda and will run back as 58114 Bilaspur-Tatanagar Passenger from Jharsuguda upto 31.03.2020. Therefore, 58113/58114 will remain cancelled between Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Jharsuguda every Thursday & Sunday

PERMANENT CLOSURE OF SOUTH STAIRCASE OF NORTH FOB AT BANDRA STATION

Western Railway announced that the south end staircase of north Foot Over Bridge at platform no 2/3 at Bandra station will remain closed from 03.01.2020. The south end staircase will be dismantled as it is coming in the alignment of the main foundation of the new FOB. Passengers may use north side of the staircase from north new FOB o­n PF 2/3. Inconvenience caused to the commuters is regretted by Western Railway.


BARABANKI – FAIZABAD – ZAFARABAD : DIVERSION OF TRAINS : 13.12.2019 – 31.01.2020

Eastern Railway announced that in connection with the traffic block from 13.12.2019 to 31.01.2020, for track maintenance work in Barabanki-Faizabad-Zafarabad section of Northern Railway following trains will be run via diverted route as under:

  • 13009 Up Howrah-Dehradun Doon Express commencing journey from 12.12.19 to 30.01.2020 will be diverted via Zafarabad-Sultanpur-Lucknow instead of New West Cabin- Zafarabad-Faizabad-Lucknow route.
  • 13010 Up Dehradun-Howrah Doon Express commencing journey from 12.12.19 to 30.01.2020 will be diverted via Lucknow-Sultanpur-Zafarabad instead of Lucknow – Faizabad- Zafarabad- New West Cabin route.
  • 13483 Up Malda Town – Delhi farakka Express commencing journey o­n 13,15,17,18,20,22,24,25,27,29,31 December, 2019 & 1,3,5,7,8,10,12,14,15,17,19,21,22,24,26,28,29,31 January, 2020 will be diverted via Zafarabad-Sultanpur-Lucknow instead of New West Cabin- Zafarabad-Faizabad-Lucknow route.
  • 13484 Dn Delhi-Malda Town Farakka Express commencing journey o­n 13,15,17,19,20,22,24,26,27,29,31 December, 2019 and 2,3,5,7,9,10,12,14,16,17,19,21,23,24,26,28,30,31 January, 2020 will be diverted via Lucknow-Sultanpur-Zafarabad instead of Lucknow – Faizabad- Zafarabad- New West Cabin route.

RAIWALA – RISHIKESH : TRAFFIC BLOCK : 04.12.2019 – 03.02.2020

Northern Railway announced that NR will undertake a Traffic Block for a period of 62 days between Raiwala and Rishikesh in connection with commissioning of Virabhadra – New Rishikesh section of 125 km long new broad gauge line between Rishikesh and Karanprayag. The Traffic Block will be taken in two phases from 04.12.2019 to 03.02.2020. Following are the details.


FOGGY SEASON : TRAIN CANCELLED : FROM 16.12.2019

Eastern Railway announced that due to upcoming foggy season from 16 December, 2019 to 31 January, 2020, Railways has decided to cancel some of Mail/Express trains either partially or fully and reduction in frequency of trains, as a precautionary measure from safety point of view. Such trains, pertains to Eastern Railway are appended below.

Full cancellation of trains:

  • Train No·14003 Malda Town-New Delhi Express leaving Malda Town o­n every Tuesdays and Saturdays between 21.12.2019 and 01.02.2020.
  • Train No·14004 New Delhi-Malda Town Express leaving New Delhi o­n every Thursdays and Sundays between 19.12.2019 and 30.01.2020.
  • Train No·11105 Kolkata-Jhansi Pratham Swatantrata Sangram Express leaving Kolkata o­n every Sundays between 22.12.2019 and 02.02.2020.
  • Train No·11106 Jhansi-Kolkata Pratham Swatantrata Sangram Express leaving Jhansi o­n every Fridays between 20.12.2019 and 31.01.2020.

Partial cancellation of trains:

  • Train No·12177 Howrah-Mathura Chambal Express leaving Howrah o­n every Fridays between 20.12.2019 and 31.01.2020 will remain cancelled between Agra Cantt. and Mathura Jn.
  • Train No·12178 Mathura-Howrah Chambal Express leaving Mathura o­n every Mondays between 16.12.2019 and 27.01.2020 will remain cancelled between Mathura Jn. and Agra Cantt.

Reduction in frequency of trains:

  • Train No·12023/12024 Howrah-Patna-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express leaving Howrah o­nly on Thursdays between 19.12.2019 and 30.01.2020 will remain cancelled.
  • Train No·22405 Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Express leaving Bhagalpur o­nly o­n Thursdays between 19.12.2019 and 30.01.2020 will remain cancelled.
  • Train No·22406 Anand Vihar-Bhagalpur Express leaving Anand Vihar o­nly o­n Wednesdays between 18.12.2019 and 29.01.2020 will remain cancelled.

RENIGUNTA YARD : LINE BLOCK : FROM 01.10.2019

South Central Railway announced that due to Line Block for washable Apron repairs on Platform No. 5 at Renigunta Yard from 1st October, 2019 for 45 days. Consequently, the following trains are cancelled/partially cancelled/rescheduled as detailed below: –

  • Train No. 67240 Gudur – Renigunta MEMU service is cancelled from 1st October, 2019 to 14th November, 2019 (45 days).
  • Train No. 67239 Renigunta – Gudur MEMU service is cancelled from 1st October, 2019 to 14th November, 2019 (45 days).

  • Train No. 66039 Arakkonam – Tirupati MEMU service is partially cancelled between Renigunta and Tirupati from 1st October, 2019 to 14th November, 2019 (45 days).

FOB CLOSED : PRABHADEVI STATION : FROM 28.07.2019

Western Railway announced that the old west span of North old FOB over Down slow line including the west south staircase at Prabhadevi station will be closed from 28th July 2019 for safety of passengers.

The new west span was commissioned on 19th June 2019 which is on North side of existing old span. This old span will be dismantled and a new FOB will be constructed at the same location. Passengers are requested to use new span of this FOB and the other FOB’s at the the station. They can use new West span on the North side of existing span.


MUMBAI CENTRAL : FOB CLOSED : FROM 22.06.2019

Western Railway announced that the east side north staircase near Elevated Booking office of Mumbai Central (North) Foot Over Bridge will be closed from 22nd June, 2019. Commuters may use staircase of the same FOB near main line platform no 5.


MARINE LINE FOB CLOSED : FROM 08.06.2019

Western Railway announced that Railway has commissioned new FOB at Marine Lines (Middle) from 31st May, 2019 on replacement basis. This new FOB connects all the platforms of Marine Lines station. Therefore, the old existing middle FOB will be closed for public from 8th June, 2019


CLOSURE OF BEASANT NAGAR PASSENGER RESERVATION CENTRE and OPENING OF NEW PRS COUNTER AT KASTURBA NAGAR RAILWAY STATION

Southern Railway announced that the Passenger Reservation Centre at Rajaji Nagar, in Beasant Nagar will be closed with effect from 19.05.2019 (SUNDAY) o­nwards due to administrative reasons. In lieu of this, a new PRS Counter will be opened o­n and from 20th May 2019 at Kasturba Nagar Railway Station o­n MRTS Section.

The new PRS counter at Kasturba Nagar Railway Station will function in two shifts to the following timings :-

  • Morning Shift : 08.00 hrs to 14.00 hrs.
  • Evening Shift : 14.15 hrs to 20.00 hrs.

TRAFFIC BLOCKS : NERAL – MATHERAN SECTION : FROM 20.05.2019

MATHERAN TOY TRAIN TO BE BACK ON TRACK, BUT ONLY ON 3 KM ROUTE

Central Railways plans to restart Matheran’s toy train between the Hill station and Aman Lodge before Christmas, a famous Newspaper reported on 08.11.2019. Services were suspended on the entire 20 km route between Matheran and base station Neral following Monsoon damage at 22 locations.

Though the 3 km route between Matheran and Aman Lodge wasn’t damaged, the train couldn’t be run on this stretch as maintenance facilities for the locomotive as well as coaches are only at Neal.


Central Railway announced that Railway will decided to operate special traffic blocks o­n Neral – Matheran section for various engineering works from Monday to Friday except public holidays from 20.5.2019 onwards till further advice.   • Train No. 52103 leaving Neral at 08.50 hrs

VIDYAVIHAR – GURU TEG BAHADUR NAGAR STATIONS : CLOSURE FOOT OVER BRIDGE : FROM 30.04.2019

Central Railway announced that Staircase of two old Foot Over Bridges (FOBs), o­ne each at Vidyavihar and Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar station will be closed for public use from 30.04.2019.

At Vidyavihar station, the old 2.44 metre steel ‘N’ type FOB at CSMT end and connecting to Vidyavihar station East to West and staircase access to Platform No. 1 and 2 will be closed from 30.04.2019, as the new 5 metre FOB constructed parallel and adjacent to the old FOB is already opened for Public Use. Passengers are requested to use the newly opened FOB.

At Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar (GTBN) station, the old 2.44 metre steel ‘N’ type FOB at Kurla end connecting GTBN Station East and staircase access to Platform No. 1 and 2 will be closed from 30.04.2019, as the new 6 metre wide FOB constructed parallel and adjacent to the old FOB is already opened for Public Use. Passengers are requested to use the newly opened FOB.

  1. Now a days lot of trains are having loose times which can be utilized for eg train no 17031
    Mumbai Hyderabad express right time at solapur is 22.05 22.15 but it will come at 22.55 and leaves at 23.05 almost 40mts late but will arrive Hyderabad at 5.45 am instead of 5.55am
    Similarly train no 17319 which leaves secunderabad at 15.40 reaches at 22.10 to Hotgi and departs at 23.10 reaches Gadag at 5.20 leaves Gadag at 6.10 am and reaches Hubli at 7.25 am.The timings can be changed so that the train can reach Hubli at 6.50am.

    Train no 11304 reaches Dharwar at 15.15 and reaches Hubballi at 15.50 leaves at 16.15 and reaches Guntakal at 22.00 arrives at 4.20at vikarabad . If you cutshort halt at Hubli and other the train can reach 5.45 am secunderabad.

  2. Suddenly all the trains were cancelled causing inconvenience to passengers and the railway in one line regretted. The works as informed could have been segregated.
    Today I am stuck at Guwahati as our train was cancelled. We were in a group of about 100 passengers, going to Odisha, about 1000 KM’s most are senior citizens and ladies booked tickets in the month of February 19. The plight can be well imagined. The train was cancelled abruptly with out prior information. The train could be rescheduled/diverted as the train covers long route. The authority could have planned early and stopped booking and notify in the Newspaper in advance
