MAJOR TRAIN BLOCKS 2022

Indian Railway is conducting major train blocks for various reasons including rail maintenance, over bridge maintenance, platform renovation, doubling works, due to heavy rain etc. Even though we are updating the train cancellation details daily in some other pages, for more conveniences of readers we decided to mention the full details of the blocks with mentioning of station name , date, name of the railway zone which announced the blocks etc.

VANGAON – DAHANU ROAD : TRAFFIC AND POWER BLOCK ON 22.05.2022

Western Railway announced that Major Traffic & Power Block on Sunday 22-05-22 from 07.00-15.00hrs. on UP Main Line & from 12.20-12.20hrs. on DN Main Line between Vangaon – Dahanu Road. During these blocks some of trains will be regulated, cancelled, short terminated/partially cancelled, the details are as under.

NON – INTERLOCKING WORK : GONDA STATION : UPTO 06.06.2022

Western Railway announced that due to Non-Interlocking work in connection with Yard remodeling of Gonda Station of North Eastern Railway, few Western Railway trains will be cancelled, diverted, rescheduled and short terminated. According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, details of these trains are as under:

Cancellation of Trains

  • Train No. 05054 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Spl. Express of 28th May 2022 & 4th June 2022
  • Train No. 05053 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Spl. Express of 27th May 2022 & 3rd June 2022
  • Train No. 15068 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Express of 3rd June 2022 & 10th June 2022
  • Train No. 15067 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Express of 1st June 2022 & 8th June 2022
  • Train No. 09451 Gandhidham – Bhagalpur Express of 27th May 2022 & 3rd June 2022
  • Train No. 09452 Bhagalpur- Gandhidham Express of 30th May 2022 & 6th June 2022
  • Train No. 15270 Ahmedabad – Muzaffarpur Express of 4th June 2022

Diversion of Trains:

  • Train No. 15067 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus of 25th May 2022 will be diverted via Gorakhpur – Basti – Gonda and stoppage will be provided at Khalilabad & Basti.
  • Train No. 15068 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur of 20th May, 2022 will be diverted via Gonda – Basti – Gorakhpurand stoppage will be provided at Khalilabad & Basti.

Reschedule of Trains:-

  • Train No. 15067 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Express, journey commencing o­n 25th May, 2022 has been rescheduled by 120 min late from Gorakhpur.

Short Terminated

  • Train No. 19409 Ahmedabad– GorakhpurExpress of 21st/26th/28th May 2022, 02nd& 4th June 2022 will be short terminated at Gomati Nagar.
  • Train No. 19410 Gorakhpur – Ahmedabad Express of 23rd/28th/30th May 2022, 4th & 6th June 2022 will short originate at Gomati Nagar.

CORRIDOR BLOCKS : CHENNAI DIVISION : 18.05.2022

Southern Railway announced that in view of Corridor Blocks for maintenance of assets at various sections of Chennai Division in May 2022, changes will be made in the pattern of train services as detailed below.

  • Full Cancellation of Train Services:
    • Train No. 16054 Tirupati – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Express leaving Tirupati at 10.10 hrs o­n 17th, and18th May, 2022 is fully cancelled.
    • Train No. 16053 Dr. MGR Chennai central – Tirupati Express leaving Dr. MGR Chennai central at 14.15 hrs o­n 17th and 18th May, 2022 is fully cancelled.
  • Partial cancellation of train services
    • Train No. 12608 KSR Bengaluru – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Lalbagh Express scheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 06.20 hrs o­n 17th and 18th May, 2022 will be partially cancelled between Katpadi Junction and Dr MGR Chennai Central. The train will run from KSR Bengaluru to Katpadi Junction o­nly.
    • Train No. 12680 Coimbatore Junction – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Intercity Express scheduled to leave Coimbatore Junction at 06.15 hrs o­n 17th and 18th May, 2022 will be partially cancelled between Katpadi Junction and Dr. MGR Chennai Central. The train will run from Coimbatore Junction to Katpadi Junction o­nly.
    • Train No. 12610 Mysuru – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express scheduled to leave Mysuru at 05.00 hrs o­n 17th and 18th May, 2022 will be partially cancelled between Katpadi Junction and Dr. MGR Chennai Central. The train will run from Mysuru to Katpadi Junction o­nly.
    • Train No. 12609 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Superfast Express scheduled to leave Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 13.35 hrs o­n 17th and 18th May, 2022 will be partially cancelled between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Katpadi Junction. The train will commence its journey from Katpadi Junction at its scheduled departure time of 15.45 hrs to Mysuru.
    • Train No. 12679 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Junction Intercity Express scheduled to leave Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 14.30 hrs 17th and 18th May, 2022 will be partially cancelled between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Katpadi Junction. The train will commence its journey from Katpadi Junction at its scheduled departure time of 16.20 hrs to Coimbatore Junction.
    • Train No. 12607 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru Lalbagh Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 15.30 hrs17th and 18th May 2022 will be partially cancelled between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Katpadi Junction. The train will commence its journey from Katpadi Junction at its scheduled departure time of 17.35 hrs to KSR Bengaluru.
  • Diversion of train service
    • Train No. 12296 Danapur – KSR Bengaluru Sanghamitra Express scheduled to leave Danapur at 20.15 hrs o­n 15th and 16thh May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Gudur, Renigunta, Tiruttani and Melpakkam Cabin dully skipping stoppages at Perambur and Arakkonam Junction. An Additional stoppage has been provided at Tiruttani for the convenience of passengers.
  • Rescheduling of train services
    • Train No. 12684 Banaswadi – Ernakulam Junction Tri-Weekly Superfast Express scheduled to leave Banaswadi at 19.00 hrs o­n 16th May, 2022 is rescheduled to leave Banaswadi at midnight o­n 16th May, 2022 (late by 5 hours).
    • Train No. 16526 KSR Bengaluru – Kanniyakumari Express scheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 20.10 hrs o­n 16th May, 2022 is rescheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 22.10 hrs o­n 16th May, 2022 (late by 2 hours).
    • Train No. 16526 KSR Bengaluru – Kanniyakumari Express scheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 20.10 hrs o­n 17th May, 2022 is rescheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 21.00 hrs o­n 17th May, 2022 (late by 50 minutes).
    • Train No. 12684 Banaswadi – Ernakulam Junction Tri-Weekly Superfast Express scheduled to leave Banaswadi at 19.00 hrs o­n 17th May, 2022 is rescheduled to leave Banaswadi at 22.50 hrs o­n 17th May, 2022 (late by 3 hours 50 minutes).
    • Train No. 16526 KSR Bengaluru – Kanniyakumari Express scheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 20.10 hrs o­n 17th May, 2022 is rescheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 21.00 hrs o­n 17th May, 2022 (late by 50 minutes).
    • Train No. 22601 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Sainagar Siridi Weekly superfast Express scheduled to leave Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 10.20 hrs o­n 18th May, 2022 is rescheduled to leave Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 12.45 hrs o­n 18th May, 2022 (late by 2 hours 25 minutes).

PALASDHARI : SPECIAL TRAFFIC & POWER BLOCK FOR LAUNCHING OF FOB GIRDERS : 16/17.05.2022

Central Railway Mumbai Division announced that CR will operate a special traffic and power blocks for launching of 2 spans of 28 meter and 25.57 meter using 140 T Railway crane in three stages at Palasdhari station. The details are as under:

  • Block 1 o­n 16.05.2022 – from 10.50 am to 01.50 pm from Karjat to Jambrung o­n Dn and Middle lines
    • There will be no repercussions o­n train services due to block.
  • Block 2 o­n 17.05.2022 – from 01.55 am to 06.55 am (midnight of 16/17.05.2022) from Karjat to Jambrung o­n Dn line and from Karjat to Thakurwadi o­n middle line.
  • Running pattern of suburban trains
    • Khopoli local leaving CSMT at 04.24 am will be regulated at Karjat for 11 minutes.
    • Khopoli local leaving Karjat at 05.43 am will remain cancelled.
    • CSMT local leaving Khopoli at 06.16 will remain cancelled between Khopoli and Karjat i.e. will run from Karjat
  • Regulation of Up Mail/Express trains
    • 18519 Visakhapatnam-LTT Express ,12702 Hyderabad-CSMT Hussainsagar Express ,11140 Gadag-CSMT Express, 19567 Tutikorin-Okha Express will be regulated and arrive destination 15 to 30 minutes behind Schedule.
  • Block 3 o­n 18.05.2022 – from 12.00 midnight to 05.00 am (midnight of 17/18.5.2022) o­n Nagnath-Karjat Up line and Khopoli-Palasdhari line
  • Running pattern of suburban trains
    • Karjat local leaving CSMT at 09.26 pm will run upto Khopoli.
  • Regulation of Mail/ express trains
    • Train No 12702 Hyderabad-Mumbai Hussain Sagar Express,11140 Gadag-Mumbai Express, 22158 Chennai-Mumbai Express, 11022 Tirunelveli-Dadar Express, 22718 , 12116 Solapur-Mumbai Siddheshwar Express, 11028 Chennai-Mumbai Mail and 17317 Hubballi-Dadar Express will arrive at destination 15 min behind schedule.

AMBALA DIVISION : MEGA BLOCK : UPTO 19.06.2022

Northern Railway announced that Ambala Division has permitted 03.00 hrs traffic and OHE Mega Block on Up line for PQRS work between SRE yard – PKY Up line from Kms 181/650 to 189/160 on SRE – UMB section.

ERNAKULAM – KAYANKULAM SECTION : LINE BLOCK : UPTO 29.05.2022

Southern Railway announced that due to line block in connection with commissioning of doubling of track between Ettumanur – Kottayam – Chingavanam stations in Ernakulam – Kayankulam section, the following are the changes in pattern of train services:

  • Full cancellation of train service
    • Train No. 06431 Kottayam – Kollam Jn Daily Special train will leave Kottayam at 05.30 hrs from 07.5.2022 to 29.5.2022 is fully cancelled.
  • Partial cancellation of train services
    • Train No. 16326 Kottayam – Nilambur Road Daily Express that leaves Kottayam at 05.15 hrs from 06.5.2022 to 29.5.2022 is partially cancelled between Kottayam and Ernakulam Town. The train will leave Ernakulam Town at its schedule departure time of 06.45 hrs from 06.5.2022 to 29.5.2022.
    • Train No. 16325 Nilambur Road – Kottayam Daily Express that leaves Nilambur Road at 15.10 hrs from 06.5.2022 to 29.5.2022 is partially cancelled between Ernakulam Town to Kottayam. The train will not run from Ernakulam to Kottayam from 06.5.2022 to 29.5.2022.
    • Train No. 16366 Nagercoil Jn – Kottayam Daily Express that leaves Nagercoil Jn at 13.00 hrs from 05.5.2022 to 29.5.2022 is partially cancelled between Kollam and Kottayam. The train will not run from Kollam to Kottayam from 05.5.2022 to 29.5.2022.
  • Diversion of trains services via Alappuzha
    • Train No. 17230 Secunderabad – Thiruvananthapuram Central Sabari Express scheduled to leave Secunderabad at 12.20 hrs o­n 05th, 07th, 08th May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Kottayam, Changanasseri, Tiruvalla, Chengannur and Mavelikara. Additional stoppages are provided at Ernakulam Jn, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha and Haripad for the convenience of passengers.
    • Train No. 16649 Mangalore Central – Nagercoil Jn Parasuram Express scheduled to leave Mangalore Central at 05.05 hrs o­n 06th, 08th , 09th, May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Tripunittura, Piravom Road, Ettumanur, Kottayam, Changanasseri, Tiruvalla, Chengannur and Mavelikara. Additional stoppages are provided at Ernakulam Jn, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha and Haripad for the convenience of passengers.
    • Train No. 12625 Thiruvananthapuram Central – New Delhi Kerala Superfast Express scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 12.20 hrs on 06th, 08th, 09th May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri, Kottayam and Vaikom Road. Additional stoppages are provided at Haripad, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam Jn for the convenience of passengers.
    • Train No. 16382 Kanniyakumari – Pune Daily Express scheduled to leave Kanniyakumari at 08.25 hrs o­n 06th, 08th, 09th May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri and Kottayam. Additional stoppages are provided at Haripad, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam Jn for the convenience of passengers.
    • Train No. 22647 Korba – Kochuveli Bi-Weekly superfast Express scheduled to leave Korba at 19.40 hrs o­n 04th, 07th May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Trippunithura, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur and Mavelikara. Additional stoppages are provided at Ernakulam Jn, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha and Haripad for the convenience of passengers.
    • Train No. 22678 Kochuveli – Yesvantpur Weekly Superfast Express scheduled to leave Kochuveli at 12.50 hrs o­n 06th May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Chengannur and Kottayam. Additional stoppages are provided at Haripad, Alappuzha and Ernakulam Jn for the convenience of passengers.
    • Train No. 12202 Kochuveli – Lokmanya Tilak Garibrath Express scheduled to leave Kochuveli at 08.45 hrs o­n 08th May, 2022 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha duly skipping stoppages at Chengannur, Tiruvalla and Kottayam. Additional stoppages are provided at Haripad, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha and Ernakulam Jn for the convenience of passengers.

SINGUR & NALIKUL : TRAFFIC & POWER BLOCK : UPTO 05.08.2022

Eastern Railway announced that due to Ongoing traffic & power block o­n down line between Singur & Nalikul stations, which was earlier scheduled upto 05.05.2022, will now be continued upto 05.08.2022. Consequently, following EMU trains will remain cancelled upto 05.08.2022:-

  • From Howrah: 37309, 37307, 37319, 37305, 37327, 37335 & 37343 – 7 trains.
  • From Haripal: 37308 – 1 train.
  • From Tarawkeswar: 37312, 37330, 37338, 37348, 37354, 37412 & 37416 – 7 trains.
  • From Seoraphuli: 37411 & 37415 – 2 trains.
  • From Singur: 37306 – 1 train.

POWER & TRAFFIC BLOCK : REGULATION OF DOWN KUMBHA & UPASANA EXPRESS : O­N 08.05.2022 & 13.05.2022

Eastern Railway announced that for overhead maintenance work at Dankuni and Bally stations, 90 minutes (01:10 hrs. to 02:40 hrs.) Power & Traffic block has been planned for 02 nights o­n 08.05.2022 (Sunday) & 13.05.2022 (Friday). Consequently, 12370 DN Kumbha Express (Bardhaman arrival o­n 08.05.2022) & 12328 DN Upasana Express (Bardhaman arrival o­n 13.05.2022) will be suitably controlled for 35 minutes enroute upto Baruipara station.

MUMBAI PASSENGER RESERVATION SYSTEM (PRS) DOWNTIME FOR MAINTENANCE

Central Railway announced that Mumbai PRS will have a power block from intervening night of 8/9.5.2022 i.e. from 23.45 hrs o­n 8.5.2022 to 04.15 hrs o­n 9.5.2022 for PNR file compression. Due to the shutdown IVRS, Current Reservation, Refund counters and Coaching refund terminal etc. will not be available. However, TDR will be issued for refund as per extant refund rules. Internet booking for Mumbai PRS trains will not be available during the above mentioned period. Passengers/Rail users are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for this important electrical maintenance work.

  1. Now a days lot of trains are having loose times which can be utilized for eg train no 17031
    Mumbai Hyderabad express right time at solapur is 22.05 22.15 but it will come at 22.55 and leaves at 23.05 almost 40mts late but will arrive Hyderabad at 5.45 am instead of 5.55am
    Similarly train no 17319 which leaves secunderabad at 15.40 reaches at 22.10 to Hotgi and departs at 23.10 reaches Gadag at 5.20 leaves Gadag at 6.10 am and reaches Hubli at 7.25 am.The timings can be changed so that the train can reach Hubli at 6.50am.

    Train no 11304 reaches Dharwar at 15.15 and reaches Hubballi at 15.50 leaves at 16.15 and reaches Guntakal at 22.00 arrives at 4.20at vikarabad . If you cutshort halt at Hubli and other the train can reach 5.45 am secunderabad.

  2. Suddenly all the trains were cancelled causing inconvenience to passengers and the railway in one line regretted. The works as informed could have been segregated.
    Today I am stuck at Guwahati as our train was cancelled. We were in a group of about 100 passengers, going to Odisha, about 1000 KM’s most are senior citizens and ladies booked tickets in the month of February 19. The plight can be well imagined. The train was cancelled abruptly with out prior information. The train could be rescheduled/diverted as the train covers long route. The authority could have planned early and stopped booking and notify in the Newspaper in advance
