Jaipur – Delhi AC Double Decker Train

Indian railways new Double Decker train between Delhi and Jaipur will be flagged off Railway Minister Mukul Roy on August 16, 2012, from Sarai Rohilla. This double-Decker train is going to replace the Jaipur-Delhi non-stop special and would have Gurgaon, Delhi Cant and Delhi Sarairohilla as its halt stations.

Following are the daily train schedule

  • Train No. 12985 / 12986 Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Jaipur AC Double Decker Train:- Train No. 12985 Jaipur – Delhi Sarai Rohilla daily AC Double Decker Train will depart daily from Jaipur at  6:00 am to reach Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 10:30 the next day. Train No. 12986 Delhi Sarai Rohilla –  Jaipur daily AC Double Decker Train will depart from Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 17:35 to reach Jaipur at 22.05 on the next day. Consisting of 13 coaches with a sitting capacity of 120 passengers in each coach. The lower floor of the double-decker has a capacity of 70 passengers while the upper floor has an in-take capacity of 50 passengers. This train will stop at Jaipur Gandhinagar, Gurgaon and Delhi Cantt stations in both the directions.

Double Decker Trains Details

Double Decker is fully Air Conditioned (AC) trains with 2 Floor express trains. This is considered to be the highest priority train in India. Double deckers having less number of stoppages also. In the new design, 128 passengers can be seated as compared with 78 passengers in Shatabdi chair cars, thus increasing the capacity by almost 70 per cent. To save upon space, it was decided to use End-On-Generation configuration where the power for train lighting and air-conditioning is supplied by two power cars, attached at both ends of the train.   Following are the other Double Decker Trains Running in India
