Fitness Center at Railway Station
The Central Railway has come out with an innovative idea contract with Vocano Life style, the owner of Calipso Lifestyle Saloon brand, to set up fitness-cum – wellness center‘ in a bid to add value to existing passenger amenities. Details of Fitness Center (Gym) at Railway Stations are here.
The move is part of the scheme to generated additional non-fare revenue for Indian Railway. The concept is in line with ‘Fit India’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister on National Sports Day on August 29.
Railway Minster has also directed to make fitness centers across Railway Stations and premises for Railway Passengers and Employees.
Fitness Center at Nagpur Railway Station
As per the contract term, Vocano will set up fitness center by installing gym equipment and Yoga accessories on Platform 1. The contractor shall also set up a state-of-the- art railway coach as saloon next to the fitness center. The service at fitness center would be free of cost.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Krishnath Patil said,
“Passengers waiting for trains can get benefit of these services even this shall help them grooming up by using Saloon services. This is the 12th innovative idea proposal finalised by the Nagpur Division to augment its non-fare revenue,”
