Cyclone VAYU : Train Status Updates
Cyclone Vayu has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm, forcing authorities to put Gujarat on high alert. Indian Railway has Cancelled/Partially Cancelled/Rescheduled/Diverted/Short Terminated many trains. Following are the zone wise details of Train status.
Western Railway : Cyclone Vayu : Train Updates : 14.06.2019
Western Railways has taken various measures in view of Cyclone Vayu. WR has cancelled, short terminated/diverted/rescheduled many trains. Accordingly total 174 trains of WR have been affected in view of the precautionary measures taken by WR to safeguard the interests of the passengers in which 125 trains have been fully cancelled and 49 trains have been decided to be short terminated/short originated. and details are following.
Various Measures by Western Railway
Considering the alertness for ‘VAYU’ cyclone over Gujarat, various safety and security precautions for train passengers are being taken by Western Railway for the prone areas under the jurisdiction of WR i.e. Veraval, Okha, Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Bhuj and Gandhidham. The following measuresare being undertaken:-
- All the passenger and Mail/Exp trains to these stations are being short terminated/cancelled after 18.00 hrs of 12.06.19 to morning of 14.06.19.
- The coaching stock presently available at depots and station yards at coastal areas are being shifted to safe places.
- Special trains with six to ten coaches each will be formed, to be kept in ready condition at nearest safe location to be moved in emergency conditions.
- WR HQ office and Divisions have been instructed for better coordination with state authorities for passenger convenience.
- Round the clock manning of Emergency control office at HQ and at Divisional level by Officers of concerned departments for immediate relief arrangement.
- WR to run one Special train each from Gandhidham, Bhavnagar Para, Porbandar, Veraval and Okha to evacuate all persons from respective areas.
- All Railway authorities at concerned divisions and HQs including Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) have been instructed to provide adequate man power, material alongwith required machinery like JCBs, tree cutters, water tanks, tractors, generators etc and to be in readiness for any assistance as and when needed. These authorities have also been instructed to maintain constant communication with respective field officials to ensure necessary immediate action.
- Detailed notification regarding cancellation/short termination/diversion etc will be issued shortly.
Trains Restored
Western Railway announced that some trains which were earlier cancelled in view of Cyclone Vayu Gujarat have now been restored.

Western Railway announced that Considering the alertness for ‘VAYU’ cyclone over Gujarat, Western Railway has decided to cancelled many mainline trains and some trains services will be short terminated with partial cancellation as a precautionary measure in the cyclone prone areas over W. Rly. In addition to this, various safety and security precautions are also being taken by Western Railway for train passengers of these prone areas under the jurisdiction of WR i.e. Veraval, Okha, Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Bhuj and Gandhidham, etc. The details of the affected trains are as under:

- Train no.12933 MMCT-ADI Karnavati Exp will depart Ex.BVI on 13.06.19 at 14.22hrs. Train will remain cancelled between MMCT-BVI.
- Train no. 19570 Veraval – Rajkot of 14.06.2019 will remain fully cancelled.
- Train no. 22958 Veraval – Ahmedabad of 14.06.2019 will remain cancelled.

- Western Railway announced that keeping in mind the safety and security of passengers in view of Vayu Cyclone affecting Gujarat, 46 more train are cancelled & another nine trains are short terminated/originated with partial cancellation, as a precautionary measure in the cyclone prone areas.
- Western Railway announced that passengers may kindly take note of trains fully/partially cancelled in view of Vayu Cyclone Gujarat update as on 14.06.2019 at 07.30 hrs. @WesternRly
Short Terminated Trains List
- Train No 22945 (MMCT-OKHA) dated 13.06.19 will be short terminated at Rajkot and hence it will remain cancelled between RJT – OKHA.
- Train no 19115 DDR-BHUJ dated 13.6.19 will be short terminated at ADI. Hence it will be partially cancelled between ADI-BHUJ.
- Train No 22955 BDTS- BHUJ dated 13.06.19 will be short terminated at ADI. Hence it will be partially cancelled between ADI – BHUJ.
- Train No. 19016 Porbandar – Mumbai Central of 14.06.19 will be short originated from Rajkot. Hence, it will be partially cancelled between Porbandar – Rajkot.
- Train No.04187 Jhansi – Veraval Jco 12.06.19 Will Be Short Terminated At Rajkot And Will Be Reversed Ex Rajkot As 04188 Jco 14.06.19
Partially Cancelled Trains
- Train no 19119 Ahmedabad – Somnath Express of 14/06 will be short terminated at Surendranagar. Hence in reverse direction train no 19120 of 14/06 will depart from Surendranagar instead of Somnath and will remain partially cancelled between Somnath – Surendranagar.
- Train no 14322 Bhuj – Bareilly Express of today i.e. 14th June, 2019 will depart from Palanpur instead of Bhuj. This train will remain partially cancelled between Bhuj – Palanpur on 14.06.2019.
- Train no 16335(GIM-NCJ) j.c.o.14/06/2019 partially cancelled bet gim-adi and train will originate ex adi
- Train 22956(BVJ-BDTS) J.C.O 13/06/19 partially cancelled between BVJ-ADI and Train will originate EX ADI on 14/06/19.
- Train 12905 Porbandar – Howrah J.C.O. 13/06/19 Will Remain Partially Cancelled Between Porbandar To Ahmedabad.
- Train No. 22946 Okha – Mumbai Central J.C.O. 13/06/19 Will Originate Ex Rajkot and Partially Cancelled Between Okha – Rajkot and Train No 19570 Veraval – Rajkot J.C.O.13/06/19 Will Remain Fully Cancelled
- Train No.19262 Porbandar-Kochuveli Express of 13.06.2019 will start from Jamnagar at its regular time instead of Porbandar. Thus this train will remain partially cancelled between Porbandar-Jamnagar.
- Train No.19262 Porbandar-Kochuveli Express of 13.06.2019 will start from Jamnagar at its regular time instead of Porbandar. Thus this train will remain partially cancelled between Porbandar-Jamnagar
- Train 12934 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Karnavati Express will terminate at Borivali and reverse as 12933 for Ahmedabad. This train is cancelled between Borivali-Mumbai Central
Rescheduled Train List
- Train no 12922 ST-MMCT Flying Ranee express of dated 13.06.19 has been rescheduled to depart 1.30hrs late from it’s schedule.
Cyclone Vayu special trains
Evacuation special train : Western Railway announced evacuation special train in view of Cyclone Vayu. To evacuate people in view of Vayu Cyclone, Bhavnagar Division operated 3 special trains between Mahuva – Botad, Veraval-Rajkot and Probander – Rajkot.
- First evacuation special train will run ex Okha at 17.45 hrs today ie 12/06/19 for Rajkot.
- Second Evacuation special train will run ex Okha at 20.05 today (12/6/19) for Ahmedabad with 21 coaches.
- Third special train will run Veraval at 20.00 hrs on 12.06.2019 for Ahmedabad with 11 coaches.
- One special local for passenger’s of train no .12933 will run Ex:- BCL at 13.40hrs and reach BVI at 14.15hrs
Light Engine by WR
As major safety and precautionary measure, in #VayuCyclone affected sections where train services were stopped, WR will first run light engine with staff of concerned Deptt. to remove obstruction on track, if any. It will ensure safe/smooth movement of trains
