Sawai Madhopur Railway station in Rajasthan is getting a complete makeover, it got a new artistic look. We can see a complete forest in the walls of that station, a pictorial representation of natural habitats, wildlife, trees, bushes, water bodies etc. The inspiration behind the makeover of Rajasthan Railway Station is the Ranthambore National Park, it is located near to the station.Also Read : –No more paper tickets : Indian Railway
About Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur district is one of the largest National parks in Northern India. Ranthambore National Park is around 11 km from Sawai Madhopur Railway Station. This wildlife sanctuary is known for its tigers.
About the Project
The project is funded and proposed by World Wildlife Fund India (WWF-I) to promote sanctuaries as tourist destinations, to showcase jungle life and to spread awareness about conservation and promote tourism. The motive behind this makeover is
to give awareness about conservation in Ranthambore from the station itself. About 20 artists have been working on this project for two months, and now they have covered 7,000 square feet area of the station.
An artist from the Ranthambore School of Art, Gajanand Singh, is leading the work.
About the painting
The Sawai Madhopur Railway station will make tourists feel like being in the national park itself. The walls of the stations covered by mainly banyan trees, the branches and roots of the banyan treas are covering the large areas of the wall. We can see the pictures of other trees, mountains, rocks, lakes, tigers, old temples, leopards, hyenas etc. Totally it is portion of forest itself.
