  1. I have an I ticket, earlier it was wait list now it is confirmed, so I didn’t take print out, BUT TC asking for print out only authorized to travel, now confirm me after receiving message for confirmation also, need to take print out?

    • Check the Mobile No on IRCTC Profile Account. Most probably the given number will be wrong because of that reason you have not received any mail. You can re-send the SMS via re-send option available under irctc.co.in website.

  2. I Booked Train tickets E-Tickets for 18/19 March .I received the e-mail at my registered email id .but not received SMS on registered Mobile .Is this the new feature …in reservation…I am receiving since last months the SMS from IRCTC for train ticket reservation.

  3. Can I travel with my ticket which is in mail..is it valid or I have to show the SMS ..my sister going to travel . I booked the ticket ..I can't able to forward the SMS to her.

    • You Can travel by E-Ticket copy available on Mail. But Forwarded SMS TTE will not consider. Most important thing is the person who travel should keep Original Valid ID proof.

  4. Its an initiative to save the environment. All major organizations across the globe are bringing the same reforms. If a TT doesn't accept the original IRCTC SMS ask him for his ID, take his id number down, and ask the TT to call his superior. I have done this once and was successful. After that I also gave a little Gyan to the TT "If you guys wouldn't have wasted papers this journey would have been a lot cheaper".

  5. This movement is not properly channelized by irctc as per my recent experience, while travelling in Banglore H'Nizamuddin Rajdhani Exp. TTE has fined me 50 Rupees since i haven't produced printout, although i was having screenshot of ticket along with valid ID proof as prescribed by IRCTC.

    • Go Ahead and file a case in consumer forum against Indian Railway. also produce the fine receipt photocopy along with the application. it's not the matter of rs.50 but matter of awareness about the rules…. All the best
