The much-awaited Utkrisht Double-Decker AC Yatri (Uday) night train service connecting Coimbatore and Bengaluru will be launched by September this year, said Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu on Sunday, a famous Newspaper reported. 
He said that Uday train service between the two cities was delayed due to changes that have to be made in the design of coaches.
“The Uday night service will benefit businessmen and middle class people, helping them to cut down the money spent on stay at hotel. As soon as the Uday is ready for launch it will be introduced in Coimbatore”…

Indian Railway is planning to start an overnight double-decker train service, in a bid to attract business travelers and it will be equipped with modern facilities and connect metropolitan centers through the new service, Uday Express, , a famous Newspaper reported. 

Speaking at the ‘Smart Railway Conclave’, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said business travelers will be able to cut down on hotel cost.  

“We will be launching Uday Express for business travelers who would start in the night and reach in the morning so that they can save on hotel cost,” said Prabhu. 

Currently railways has undertaken a large number of projects to provide better on board amenities for passengers.

Meanwhile, during the concalve, Prabhu said the challenge now is to make better use of latest technology. 

“Technology was always been there but now the scale has multiplied now. Use of right technology is the game changer.” 

The Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) which was languishing for years was made to progress rapidly and it is expected to be operational by 2019, he said.

Highlighting the importance of investment in the rail sector, Prabhu said “Every rupee invested in railways has six time multiplying effect on economic and job creation sector.” 

A huge capital expenditure of Rs 8.56 lakh crore was planned out for five years out of which more than Rs 3 lakh crore is being spent now, he said.
