STUDENT IDENTITY CARD AND BANK PASS BOOK CAN BE USED FOR E-TICKET IDENTITY PROOF
Indian Railways announced that to make travel on e-ticket more convenient for the rail users, Indian Railways has decided to additionally accept the following as “proof of identity” for travelling on e-tickets, with effect from 15th June 2010.
  1. Student Identity Card with Photograph issued by recognized school/college for their students
  2. Nationalised Bank Pass Book with Photograph
At present Indian Railways accepting following five as “proof of identity”.
  1. Voter Identity Card
  2. Passport
  3. PAN Card
  4. Driving License
  5. Photo Identity Card issued by Central/State Government
However, as at present, except concessions for senior citizens, any other type of concessions including student concession is not admissible for persons booking e-tickets.
