INTRODUCTION OF MANGALORE � PUDUCHERRY WEEKLY EXPRESS
Shri V. Vaithilingam, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Puducherry will flag off the inaugural special between Mahe and Puducherry at at function to be held at Mahe railway station at 16.00 hrs. on 11.1.2010. Shri E. Ahamed, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Narayanasamy, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Planning & Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Mullappally Ramachandran, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri E. Valsaraj, Hon'ble Minister for Home, Govt. of Puducherry, Shri A. V. Sreedharan, Hon'ble Deputy Speaker, Puducherry Legislative Assembly, Hon'ble MP, MLA and other dignitaries will participate in the function.

  The inaugural special, T.No. 06044 will leave Mahe at 16.45 hrs. on 11.1.2010 and arrive Puducherry at 06.30 hrs. the next day. The composition of the train will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The train will stop at Vadakara, Kozhikkode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem Jn., Salem Town, Attur, Chinnasalem, Vriddhachalam and Villupuram.
 T.No.2795/2796 Mangalore � Puducherry - Mangalore Weekly Superfast Expresses are renumbered as T.No.6044/6043 Mangalore � Puducherry � Mangalore Weekly Express. 


 
The regular service will commence from Puducherry on 12.1.2010 and from Mangalore on 18.1.2010. T.No.6044 Mangalore � Puducherry Weekly Express will leave Mangalore at 16.00 hrs. on Mondays and arrive Puducherry at 08.00 hrs. on Tuesdays. T.No.6043 Puducherry � Mangalore Weekly Express will leave Puducherry at 16.35 hrs. on Tuesdays and arrive Mangalore at 09.05 hrs. on Wednesdays. The composition of the trains will be 1 First AC cum AC 2-tier, 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, mahe, Vadakara, Kozhikkode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem Jn., Salem Town, Attur, Chinnasalem, Vriddhachalam and Villupuram.
